Introduction to High Performance Scientific Computing on GPUs (Waterloo)

This seminar will provide an introductory overview of GPGPU (General-purpose computing on graphics processing units) computing, the hardware involved, and its two primary programming approaches: CUDA and OpenCL. Optimizations of GPGPU programs needed to obtain good performance will also be discussed. The hardware and software available for GPGPU programming on SHARCNET will be discussed.
